Bentyl (dicyclomine) question or concern?

I found this at drugs.com when i was looked at the side effects and such.... ive never really seen something specifically saying if you have UC do not take...


What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before taking Bentyl (dicyclomine)?
Do not take this medication if you are allergic to dicyclomine, or if you have:

*

problems with urination;
*

a blockage in your digestive tract;
*

an intestinal disorder such as ulcerative colitis;
*

gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD);
*

a serious heart condition or active bleeding;
*

glaucoma;
*

myasthenia gravis; or
*

if you are breast-feeding a baby.

I've used it for well over 19 years.  I will say that I get slightly blurry vision when reading without glasses), and probably dry mouth/eyes from it. 

I take 20 daily unless I'm in severe discomfort..I've taken 40 and as high as 60mg in one day...20mg dosage tablets.

I cannot imagine the 160mg dosage it mentions in that write-up...I'd be a slug.

it doesnt really do much side effect wise... i was just wondering what made it so bad for us?

Did you read the link I provided?

What dosage are you taking?  did your GI give you the Rx?

I dont really have a GI... I got it along with the pred and everything else from the family dr. I donthave insurance, I cant afford a GI visit. but im taking 20mg twice a day right now
