Could I be devloping toxic megacolon?

Over the last week I've been in and out of the hospital several times, My doctor said the blood worked showed a new infection and I started anti biotics for it. Then I stopped having bowel movements. First they just slowed down then they stopped. I do have a fever right now of 40c and my stomach isn't very swollen but the doctors said it was and in a x-ray they did see alot of stool built up in an area of a colon but that it should break down on it's own. Should I be worried?

but arent they giving you any pills to make u defecate??like dulcolax?

Where do you live?  Yeah, I would be worried.  I would march myself back into the hospital.

Have you been checked since you stopped going? Yes, you do have reason to be worried. An infection followed by obstipation (that's a $50 word for not going at all and being blocked by stool) could lead to toxic megacolon. Better safe than sorry.

Hi what meds are you on exactly?? All of them.

You could add a stool softener....
Definitely get checked out again.

I'm on asacol, Prednisone, A heart burn pill, Prozac and two anti biotics. Nothing to help me go. I'll try taking a couple senokot and see if that works.

Senokot is good.  Years ago when I was pregnant with my oldest daughter I had terrible constipation and my gyn doctor prescribed it. So it must be gentle to the system.  Did you move your bowels today?

I had two really mushy poops, And alot of leakage. I'm still really worried about it cause the doctor I last seen said he could still hear air passing the clog so it could break down on it's own. I think I'll go to the hospital in the morning and get another X-ray. And see if they can do anything. I'm currently taking morphene as well because I have been in alot of pain from this over the weekend. I forgot to mention that earlier.

Morphene blocked me up incredibly - didn't go for a week.  It very well may contribute to your inability to defecate.

Well, I've been going small tiny mushy stools but I've been taking alot of senokot

I think I'll goto the hospital tonight cause when ever im not on the morphene i can barely move im in so much pain.
