I don't understand why you can say that FOOD doesn't cause flares. Food's have different Inflamatory ratings.
Salmon which rates at -650 is a STRONG ANTI-Inflamatory Food. Very good for you and anytime.
Bag of Gummy Bears. High Inflammatory Rating which would asbolutley kill me...
Ratings on inflamatory means the type of foods that cause our body to react.

Look at Salmon for example and then look at cereal or milk. Doesnt matter.
To make a long story short, eating right will definitely keep your remission longer otherwise there wouldn't be diets for crohns or Ulcerative colotis in inducing and holding a long remission.
I can say it because the large body of mainstream science supports it. You may not agree, that's fine. We're each of us entitled to our opinions.
In my case, during a nearly five-year flare, I found that it made no difference what I ate. I tried nearly all the diets, giving them three months to work or not. I added and deleted every food and type of food anyone mentioned. I continued to flare, flare, flare. I now eat a normal, healthy diet and cheat occasionally with junky food. No flares.
Everyone is different and it's entirely possible you have food sensitivities.
