Probiotic,
How was it you came to find out you had a hookworm and how did you get rid of it?
I'm thinking I may have parasites or maybe worms (which isn't a surprise, being that most Americans have some sort of worms or parasites) after being told during my second colonoscopy, that I had 'white specks' on the walls of my intestines. I only saw part of the video on the tiny TV in front of me, that was letting me view what the scope was seeing inside of me. I was in and out of it with the drugs they gave me, so I didn't understand what I was seeing. After it was over I asked the nurse what the white specks were. The nurse replied "That's your Ulcerative Colitis" I didn't ask again what the hell she meant, as her answer was not very clear, and stupid... and I was on the verge of collapsing after not eating for days and so drugged that I could barely move.
I feel that those 'white specks' were could have been parasites or worm eggs... eeek. Just to think about it makes me feel all gross inside and sick. I believe that I may have that problem still, and want to rid myself of most or all of them for the longest period of time possible.
What would your suggestion be for someone like myself, who has not been told by a doctor whether or not I have parasites or worms? I'm thinking of doing a cleanse of some sort, but don't know what would be safe for someone like myself with UC. Any product suggestions or tips?
I have bouts of diarrhea EVERY DAY and I've not had a normal bowel movement since I was about 12 years of age and I'll be 34 as of tomorrow. Happy Birthday me... I wish I felt better.
basic stats: Diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 1999, No meds, PB8 probiotic, glucommanan fiber (when I remember to take it) prenatal multi-vitamin (to get more minerals needed for another health issue called MTHFR) and a Liver Cleanse supplement. At this point in time, I'm not really following any kind of diet, but I'm trying to eliminate red meat, chicken, fried foods and sugar... starting slowly. Tried acacia fiber, only to discover that even the smallest dosage causes AWFUL pain and gas, loud enough for people to hear. I've also tried metamucil in the past and am reluctant to try it again, as it made me bloat and I had the worst griping pains.
