After trying several meds and nothing helping, my doc put me on predsol enemas (trial of 3 weeks). I am still only in the first week but have noticed the difference already. Still getting the cramping but am on some strong pain killers which normally have the cramps gone within 20 mins and i am still getting the dreaded urgency but (sorry to be graphic) when i am going toilet thinking its the diarrhoea its just wind with no blood or mucus. I can remember the last time i had wind with no blood of mucus. Does this sound like my flare is starting to pass, i really hope so. .......FINGERS CROSSED.

So funny how something as mundane as passing gas without passing anything else at the same time can be a cause for celebration. The same thing happened to me about four weeks ago, and it was the first sign that I was getting better.

i know im so happy just with the passing wind with the no blood and mucus whoooooo haha. I was so worried last week as i have had a few accidents (if u know what i mean)???? but this week a whole new story only thing worrying me is will i flare again as soon as my enemas finish in 2 weeks time.. i dont want to be dependant on them as they contain steroids.

Awesome news...

Rather than completely stopping them, you should taper...and if necessary, do maintenance maybe once a week.

You sound like the flare is about to pass. I notice alot of gas before and after a flare. I hope it passes. pun intended.

I agree with everyone, many people w/o UC take "breaking wind" for granted. For me, I am elated when I gass it up. Its one less bathroom trip I have to make. Hooray for toots!
