Its T -1 for me. I have had my last solid meal for at least a week (Nuggets and fries with my kids!) and I am heading to Sydney later today for my pre-admission clinic. Part 1 keyhole surgery will be tomorrow. I guess you don't really know what the surgeon is gonna do - but thats the plan.

Yesterday was a pretty messy day for me which sort of reinforced my decision to have surgery. In a way i am looking forward to it and i'd like to thank all those ppl who have had surgery and posted their experiences.

No wireless internet for me, so i will have to sneak out from time to time to post using the phone.

the day after! went quite altho surgeon decided not to do keyhole. v tired and blurred vision cos of painkillers. will do longer posts when i reduce painkillers.

Wow, you are actually able to type fairly well all doped up on narcotics! :) That's more then I can probably do. Congrats on the surgery and get well soon.

my cousins were in this hospital having a kidney transfer 4 weeks ago. anyway apart from the twinges of pain, i am going good. must b cos of all the best wishes! thanks for the support. the bad news is that they have taken my anti-pain button away. catch u all later.

You're sounding really good, and hopefully this means your recovery will go smoothly!  Keep us up to date with your healing, Peter!

seems like i came off all the meds at the same time so i am in some pain now. they stopped the pca yesterday. in a five man shared ward and its v noisy. no fun at all. hopefully will get on fluids soon.

I'm sorry Peter that you are in pain. Any chance they will move you to a different room?

one of the guys is leaving tomorrow so hoping it willbe quieter tomorrow. also had too much output like paul. and pain was really bad. two steps forward one step back. but the really cool thing is that when i think i need to go to the bathroom - i don't!!

;-) Not having to think about going to the bathroom is a good thing. Just thought about this....you'll save so much money on TP! :-) Ha! Just a joke to make you smile. My boyfriends plumbing exploded two weeks ago and I was embarrassed to think it might have been me who made that happen by the toilet paper glut. Glad to know that you'll have one less person in that room with you and that it will be quieter.

yes, hate to think how much tp i have used and how many hours i have spent on the can. another night without much sleep altho that was because i was so sick yesterday afternoon. i had special attention. my white blood cell count was down so i got anti-biotics as well. oh well welcome to day four. but it does seem soooo much longer.

its great to hear that remicade is still working for you LL. hope u don't lose its efficacy. i thought they were giving me placebos when i was on it. take care everyone.

i think i meant to say my white bloodcount was up. anywy, had a good night.

i have found that i have to be careful regulating my body temp. it seems to take me a while to warm up and cool down.

still a bit stiff getting up but i guess that is to be expected. my condition is a bit up and down but better overall.

It's great to hear your updates, and I hope that it's two steps forward and no steps backwards by now.  After what you've been through with this disease, it is so cool to think of you without it at all!  Stay warm.

Thanks for all your kind encouragement. its great to hear from the outside world.

The stoma nurse came to see me earlier this afternonn. so much to learn and remember. also had a visit from the dietitians. Can't wait to clean my first stoma! and get my diet sorted.

The roomie situation seems to be constantly changing. there were two ppl who had stomas cos of cancer and a woman who is having bloody bms but has not been dx'd. she really doesn't want to be here.but y does she have to talk so loud - lol. just got a new roomie in. he has just come dowwn from recovery. prob same as me 5 days ago. dinner time and the nurse is keen to know how much i drink.

The pain is unbearable. u feel the worst u have ever felt. someone says rate your pain out of 10. u start thinking of Bo. wrong 10. but wot if the pain gets worse. have to reserve some space just incase - heaven forbid. but how much? 9 still doesn't give u much wriggle room, so u confidently but painfully volunteer 8. rate your pain out of 10? didn't i just answer that one? i'm gonna have two points of headache if this goes on! 8.5 cos i don't like u. this last bit said to myself just incase she wants to add a few points of her own. i drift off into a pain wracked escape - rate your pain out of 10. aaaaaaah!

if you r going into this one say 7. and if u run out of wriggle room - lie.
