On side note: I don't think they are suggesting antibiotics is the end-all be-all. I recently had a fever and my doc put my on Cipro and Flagyl two nights ago, the same as in the study, interesting enough. My UC symptoms have returned pretty bad yesterday, but subsided some today. One of the things that helped me last year and I hope to confirm this year is by following antibiotics with a heavy dose of probiotics about 2 hours after each dose. I'm also adhering to the Candida Diet to hopefully starve out/ kill any other microbes. I'm really curious as to why I haven't seen any studies on this. The closest was the fecal bacteriotherapy. Anyone know of any others?
