It's not unusual if the doctor doesn't want to discuss your feelings; generally, they want to hear what the patient's PHYSICAL symptoms are. Go to the Monday appointment prepared to discuss what you've experienced in addition to ribbon-shaped bms, be it fever, chills, nausea, cramps, rectal bleeding, etc. Then when the doctor asks why you have put off medical consultation, explain your insurance situation. I know it's hard to control your feelings when your body is making you miserable, but try to get the doctor's attention by being as clinical & systematic in your explanations as your education has prepared you to be. Good luck & let us know how you're doing. / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])
