Lialda, I'm going to give it a try, but what's the difference in Sulfasalsazine and Lialda?

who has succes with Lialda, I'm going to start today with it. What is the difference between sulfasalzine and lialda anyone know? I know Lialda is mesmeline, but I don't get what makes them different.

sulfasalazine is mesalamine/mesalazine with sulfa. They're both the same "active" ingredients...just different vehicles to get it to the colon.
Both start to dispurse in the terminal ileum, which will treat the cecum.

Thank you, I will stick with sulfasalsazine since that had less side effects for me. Asacol made me very anxious.

I have been on Lialda for about a year and half, and I have had success with it. I take two a day along with the other supplements I take as well. It has been awesome for me, I also use Rowasa every night also just to be extra sure I am treating all I can from both ends. Good luck!
