But bbc, if it's formed stool, wouldn't that mean it's not leaving the body too soon, not passing thru too fast??? Know what I mean? I was always under the impression that diarrhea (with UC) was because of stuff going thru too quickly. But if it can stay in your body long enough to become solid & formed, that means most of the water has been taken out, & most of the nutrients have also. Cause you figure the nutrients come out thru the small intestine, the water & a few other vitamins thru the large- so if the stool is able to come thru the large intestine, & really firm up, you'd think it would be overall passing slowly enough to get the nutrition. Who knows!?!?!?!?! Good question for a GI! Are you actively losing weight, or just unable to gain? I have a hard time gaining- I haven't lost any pounds in a while, but I eat a lot, & not a lot of good stuff too, & don't really put any weight on. I think my metabolism has changed- whether due to age, the drugs, childbirth, whatever. My body seems to have found a new "set point" & that's it.
