preperation H suppositories to treat procitis? Will it induce a remission?

I've been having bleeding for the past 13 months and my docs haven;t given me a diagnosis even hafter a flexible sigmoidscope exam a year ago.

NO, not very likely, those are designed to help treat hemherroides which are quite different from proctitis, you really need rectal meds to treat your proctitis. Maybe go see another doc and get an opinion or ask your doc what's up from the sig you had.

That is WAY too long to be dealing with those issues untreated. You need rectal meds for your issue. If your doctor won't/does't get back with you in a prompt manner then you need a new doctor. Now for me the doctor who does the surgery is different than the doctor you will see to manage your condition and also read the results to you. I found that one out the hard way. It's like doctors expect you to be psychic and know what they're thinking.

Yea I've been procrastinating for so long out of fear, laziness and frustration. I told my doctors 13 months ago I was bleeding & had to go to the bathroom more often than normal, but was told to eat more fiber. Returned a month later and gave a more detailed overview of my symptoms and got a flex sig (nothing found). Symptoms persist despite eating fiber and a month later make 2 more appointments with docs and request further evaluation, but am told I just have IBS. At that point I just give up and realize I have no choice but to have to live with the bleeding without a definitive diagnosis. I think I should make another appointment and demand a colonoscopy.

Yes I would demand a colonoscopy because bleeding is not IBS. You need another doctor because a *good* doctor would be concerned that you are bleeding. The sooner you treat it the better. I would have them check for C-Diff as well as anything else they should be ruling out.

A flex sig hardly goes far enough to use as a DX for either UC or CD, at least a colonoscopy is needed, not to mention small intestinal test because CD also would need to be ruled out...as stated, bleeding is not associated with IBS unless it's from a hemheroid. Find a new doctor, this one has let you suffer for over a yr and has no business being a doc if he's only done a sig on you...blood and stool tests are a must to rule out IBD as well.

I would think if you had a sigmoidoscopy and they didn't find inflammation, the inflammation might be further up and no suppository would help. You really need to see a different doctor. Yours doesn't seem too helpful. I would try to get a colonoscopy. You need to find out what is going on and get the proper medication to treat it. If I didn't go to the doctor, I would probably still be running to the toilet 15x a day with D and blood.
