For those of you who have used cortifoam, how long did you have to use it to go into remission? 1 month? More?

It would vary...as with any rectal meds. Some have used them for a year, others a few monthe and there are some use them for a few weeks and then taper.
I used a cortifoam once during a flare for 2 weeks...but that was prescribed by another doctor. It worked well...but I did go back to the Salofalk once I got to see my own doc.

I don't know if Cortifoam itself will put you in remission as it depends where your inflammation is, but it normally gets my bleeding stopped within a week.

It took my son less than a week to stop bleeding after using the cortifoam. He's still on it every 3rd or 4th day now as the doctor didn't want to stop it yet.

Cortifoam can indeed clear up proctitis, the length of time varies from person to person and from flare to flare, a severe enough flare will likley take longer than a mild or moderate flare of proctitis. I've used cortifoam for as long as a yr before tapering off of it.
