Simpkins, welcome to Healingwell. I'm not sure what to make of this diagnosis either and some of it doesn't sit well with me. First off, some docs are now using the Remicade as a first defense because it is being found to actually heal the ulcers in the colon, so that might not be that unusual. But the norm on infusions is every eight weeks, not six, unless the patient is not responding to the Remi in eight week intervals and they decide to either up the dosage or give the Remi at the six week intervals. I think a second opinion is in order too. Not sure why they haven't even given you Asacol or Rowasa enemas. Do you still have blood or any urgency at all?
As for the military medical boards...I don't have any idea how they work so I'll leave that up to our resident military experts (ha!) as their experiences will be most helpful to you. And I'm so glad they are here to help out our military folks. I cannot imagine what they put all of you through...and I'm well....let's just say very upset that you have all been treated this way. Take care and again, welcome!
