Is is okay to take Motrin for a day or two if my son is doing great with his UC ? Will Motrin cause a flare, or is it just bad for you if you are in a flare?
He plays lacrosse and his ankle is pretty swollen. Thanks for your advice:)

Some Uc'ers can handle a couple doses of Nsaids. I am not one of them though. I don't think you (or your son) will know unless you try. Of course, RICE is always good - rest, ice, compression and elevate.

Thanks Sherry. He has been icing it, but he has a game at 11:30 this morning:) I guess I am too scared to try. Thanks. Are you good? High 82 here today. It was 20 on Monday though!!!! Take care of yourself.

Yeah, I'm doing fairly ok. I am still having D and I have a scope scheduled in April - my 2 year colonoscopy. Overall I am feeling ok. It's dark and rainy here today. It's around 50 now but yesterday was absolutely beautiful! We got up to 70 and we had alot of sunshine.
I understand the fear but sometimes we have to weigh the pros and cons with everything we take. I'm not sure though that if his ankle is swollen that he should be playing. It can make things worse.

Hi coach is a physical therapist, and he is pretty good about
knowing how far to push. He will take him out if he complains, and he will complain if it hurts too much. Jack did say it felt better this morning. I hope everything goes well with you Sherry. I will be thinking about
you, and saying a prayer.

I was keeping an eye on my daughter too. She twisted her ankle playing basketball (she's on the girls junior high team) so we wrapped her ankle. It didn't swell up or anything, but it did hurt her when she walked. She didn't play much when her ankle was hurting but she tried. Normally to me she lets me know about
every single ache and pain but she sucks it up for the coach! lol She also jammed her finger trying to catch the ball - now that swelled up.
I am really happy to hear Jackson doing better! I will hope it continues for him :)

I guess it is always something with kids and sports. He did play the whole game. We lost though, so he is sulking upstairs. I haven't seen him yet:):) Might not want to see him right now! Take care Sherry, and good luck with your colonoscopy:)
