Emily said she liked my photo of the week I did a long time ago... so here you are Emily-- just for you (and anyone else who likes them!)

That's really beautiful. I have also taken some pictures of flowers, but don't know how to share on this forum.

All--

if you hit "post reply" instead of using the quick reply, a set of tools will show up at the top of the text box you use to write your reply. One of those tools is a button on the left that simply says "IMG" Click on that button, which stands for image and a tag will appear below where your cursor is. You then place the URL/address of your photo from whatever photo hosting site you use (shutter bug, flickr, photobucket, picasa to name a few) without any spaces (I usually will just use the copy paste function). Once you've done that, hit the "IMG" button again and it will display the closing tag for that function. You're photo will not appear in the body of your reply but will show up like mine, giving you a link to the photo. Give it a try!

Elaine, I use Photobucket.  It's free and easy to use.  You register at www.photobucket.com and upload your photos from your computer on this site.  After an upload it will give you 3 or 4? options on how you want to share the photo.  I personally use the direct link option.  Here is a pic of one of my pups btw   http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee33/tweety48239/jackie.jpg

Ryan, beautiful picture!  I always enjoy your photos too.  Flowers are my favorite pictures to take too.

Yeeeeeaaaaahhhh, I have so missed those photos. You must have taken a ton of all the snow that you received this winter. I unfortunately had to sell my camera to make it through the unemployed time. Eh, just a small setback, I will get a new one some day soon. Thanks for brightening up what was a dreary day!!

I'm working on it, started pred last week due to other complications but strangely feel pretty good. Luckily I will only have to be on it for a month and see how that goes. I'm in Orlando now, still not too sure how I feel about it, hoping it will still grow on me. That or get enough money saved up to move yet again and see where the wind takes me. I have decided that it's not so much the "where" as much as it is the "who" will make me feel like I have a home, but neither is an easy thing to find. So I have decided to take a little time to myself and figure out who I am now that my AF career is a thing of the past. Still fighting with the VA on my disability rating, I have another eval this afternoon actually. Not looking forward to it, it's my psych eval, too many things that I can't even put into thoughts let alone words without a breakdown. So wish me luck on that front. I thought of you often when I was in Nebraska and working at the airport with all the little private aircraft, and all the stories you would tell of your adventures in flight. I am truely sorry that you are not feeling well enough to take to the skies right now, but we both know that is where you belong skimming the clouds, gliding on those magical streams of air that still amaze and awaken the wonderous child inside as to how they keep us afloat and thanking every precious moment that we not only had the honor of soaring above the world but had so much to do with changing so many lives upon it.
Have you signed up for any of websites like, togetherweserved.com I have found a bunch of people that I haven't talked to in years. It is still a work in progress but it's pretty cool. So, what is next week's photo going to be of????

Em - just butting in here to say - when you have your evaluation just tell it like it is.  My husband is Army (sorry) retired and has 100% disability including PTSD.  Here we have a wonderful VA and, even though I would rather live in Orlando) it was pretty quick to get disability, etc.  Of course, he is 73 now but gets wonderful care here. 

My husband got a couple organizations involved in helping which did a lot - MOPH and DAV.

Good luck and hope you find your niche down there.  We have a Timeshare near Disney - love it there for vacation but would not want to live there.

I still haven't learned how to put a link to my photos here but I have LOTS of snow photos on my blog about my husband and his lung cancer if you would like to see it...

Aww what a pretty pooch!

I currently do not have any Spring photos-- because Spring hasn't sprung here yet. I work by Nature's clock....except in one case. My newest plant obsession (sad as it may seem, I really really love plants) has been a strange group-- orchids. Here is one of my phalaenopsis -- it just bloomed this past week and though it doesn't warrant a new post of its own, I wanted to share it because it's awesome.

Hiya--

I'm relatively new to the orchid scene-- but yes, they stay in the home. This particular one was already in "spike"-- meaning it was growing the flower stem-- when I bought it. However, I did manage NOT to kill it and now its blooming-- small, successful steps! LOL

I have four other orchids-- total of 4 are blooming and one has kicked into growing gear, which is good because its telling me its happy with the situation of my care for it-- so I expect it to bloom early next year-- but sometimes these Phalaenopsi will bloom whenever they feel like it.

I get HUGE brownie points when I get these guys to bloom for my wife-- she loves them

Plus, gardening for me is very very peaceful and therapeutic.
