Anyone heard of/tried Jianpiling Tablet?

my daughter (20) was recently diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and was put on asacol -- i've been scouring the web in search of information on uc and came across a reference to Jianpiling Tablet and wondered if anyone here had any exposure to this.  Also, has anyone used nicotine patches/gum and if so, has that helped?

I don't recall ever seeing that herbal remedy discussed, yourstruly. I believe research with nicotine patches has not shown that they are effective in easing UC symptoms. There is some conjecture that it could be the carbon monoxide in cigarette smoke rather than the nicotine that helps.

I'm sure there are others here with more knowledge of this, hopefully they will respond to your question.

I read about jianpiling a while back and even contacted a well-known Chinese Herbalist to ask about it.  She didn't seem to know anything about it but instead recommended a a number of other Chinese herbs for me to try.  I could not stand the extremely foul taste and gave up on taking them after a few weeks - also, I didn't notice any benefit but if may take a longer course of treatment to see any improvement.

this is the web site i found -- i found some discussion about nicotine here but none on this -- if i find out more about these herbs, i'll pass it along -- i'm pretty leery about unproven herbal remedies, so i was hoping it had come up here -- we have been working with the scd but don't have the hang of it just yet -- have been devouring this forum -- this just came on in December and we had no idea these problems were so widespread (probably doesn't come up normally in everyday conversation)

Jianpiling, (Chinese:健脾灵)in Chinese means Nuturing spleen. I know Chinese. Chinese medicine offer variety of meds for colitis. Some of them really working. Jianpiling may help some per Chinese medical theory. effects varies between persons as people have diiferent causes of colitis. You have to see which meds working for her.You may find it in Chinese herbal store here if you live a big city. Good luck.

I found the formulation online in an article..took that formulation to my accupunturist who made the formula for me.
I have had good luck with it,but you have to modify your diet,and find
offending foods too.
Its been an exploration but I am so much better than 6 mos ago.

I am also using Boswellia for inflamation in the colon,and Proflavinol 90,
both go after inflamation.
