I discovered Tension Tamer tea and that really helps relax the gut and the pain. It's by Celestrail Seasoning you can get it at walmart. I hope this helps

What is the abdominal pain like. Is it a bloated pain, where your stomach feels like a balloon, or do you get spasms in you stomach and colon.

I personally dont' but chamomile tea is known to aid with menstral cramps so it may very well help with IBD cramps/pains as well, however if you're allergic to ragweed then you should avoid chamomile tea. It's also a natural anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral I believe...you can google it for complete info and benefits.

Get a Rx for Nulev from your GI. I have found that probiotics help.

Talk to your doctor, you should not be left in that much pain. My doctor told me to never take advil or motrin like products if you have IBD. Tylenol helps mild pain only. I have take 1/2 a loritab before when it got really bad. Good luck, it gets better, it just doesn't happen quickly.

Can you split your prednisone into two doses and see if that helps?
When my son was on prednisone, everyday shortly after dinner he would get these intense pains in his abdomen that didn't really feel like UC crampy pain and we gave him GasX strips and they helped quite a bit.
Definitely talk to your doctor. He should be able to help you.
Hope you feel better very quickly!!!

My doctor has never offered anything for pain until this flare up. Sometimes the cramping and pain is so bad I feel like I could pass out. He just put me on 2 darvocet every 6 hours as needed. It does help....however I will not be able to work and drive on it and I am concerned that it is an addicting drug. I can see me wanting to use it al lot because it helps. But I am in a bad flare so maybe the need for it will go away. I hope you find something that helps. Probiotics do help me some.

Try hot water bottle. It may help to settle down the cramps and pain.

I had the same thing and my doctor prescribed me Hyomax. I have two kinds. One pill I take once in the morning and then I have other ones that dissolve under my tongue when the pain is very intenese. It is supposed to help with the spasms. It honestly has helped me! There are still days when I feel like I want to die from the pain but it doesn't last nearly as long as it used to and it does lessen the pain with this medication. I know this is usually used for patients with IBS but he said it was an antispasm medication so he thought he would try it.

I may be a bit weird but I have found that Nerds of all things helps. It could just be me (that seems to be a trend) but when I would have some pain I would eat some Nerds candies and it would seem to help a bit. Maybe the sugar maybe it was mental I don't know but it is a delicious way to help.
