Pain, weak and drowsy

 Hi all,

I have not been feeling well with the last few days again (it seems since February that a few days after coming off Ciprofloxin that I start to feel the symptoms getting worse, well the symptoms never leave completely)

Anyway, about an hour ago I had a sudden urge to have a BM, since then I have terrible pain all down my left side (was nagging before that), I feel really drowsy and weak aswell.

Does anyone know why this is, or suffer in the same way?

Hi...yes I can relate to how I feel during a flare. I've not been on cipro, but it probably is that your flare isn't being dealt with fully...even if it was suspect that the cipro would help an infection...the flare could still be there.

I would suggest you possibly call the surgeon who put you on the cipro and request a rectal med to help with the rectal inflammation....at least until you see the GI?

Are you in the US? Canada? other?

Thanks for your replies, they are much appreciated. I find this site a great help. I have seen the GI 2 wks ago and I am now waiting to have another colonoscopy done (no date yet). It was the GP that put me on the Cipro, have been on it 3 times for a week each time and also had augmentin on another occasion since February. My dipentum has also been increased. I have also increased my probiotic to double the dose.

I have been passing alot of mucous on and off but none in the last few days but have passed a thick pinky/brown stringy fleshy substance (dont know if this would be called mucous or not) last night and again today and each time the pain in the left side got alot worse and I felt really weak and tired for about an hour afterwards.
