I have a question. Does the pain/pressure ever go away. The diarrhea has stopped and i don't fill like I have swallowed a cinder block. But the pain/pressure in my lower abdomine has not stopped, it may ease for an hour or so but it comes back. I am on sulfasalazine, folic acid and dicyclomine. I am more constipated at this point so I have increased my fiber intake. Helppppppppppppp!!!

I have never had significant pain. I've always dealt with bloat and cramps but not pain like you describe. I see a lot of people here that deal with considerable amounts of pain, I seem to deal more with discomfort and frequent bathroom trips.

Lena is the pressure you feel around your bladder area?
When I was taking Sulfasalzine at full dosage I got a pressure pain in the area of my bladder and my prostate became inflammed as well. It subsided about
2 or 3 days after stopping Sulfa.

I have had this pain from the onset. There is a place on my large intestine that has thickened. At first they thought it might be cancer. The place is rigth where the small empties in to the large. The pain/pressure fills like it should be urinary, but my urologist says my bladder is perfect. I has some bleeding there for a while. Pan colitis makes you feel like crap all the time. None of my doctors seem that concerned about
it. Bet the would be if they felt like I do. Thanks

Yeah I don't think most people realize what a pain colitis can be. I haven't had to much problem with bad pains, just more little annoying random pains all over my abdomen. Which may or may not be colitis.
The only thing you can do by yourself is look for alternative natural ways to treat your colitis on top of your meds and pray they help.
As for fiber, most everyone says Psyllium husks are the best thing, they regulate you and even provide some anti-inflammation. I just recently been using Psyllium at night at half a dose and it seems to work quite well by morning.
