Homemade fruit smoothies are great and I love them and my colon hadnles them great. Here is my mix (I do not use ice, I use frozen fruit for the consistancy):
-half a banana
-handful frozen organiz mango
-handful frozen organic blueberries
-handful frozen organic strawberries
-3 to 4 heaping table spoons of greek organic vanilla yogurt
-1 heaping tablespoon organic vanilla whey protein powder
-teaspoon flaxseed oil
-half a cup organic coconut milk
-real fresh organic orange juice, poursome in and start blending, add more as needed for proper consistancy/flavor
-optional, my wife likes to put some frozen organic spinach in hers, personally I do not like the flavor despite the health benefits but she likes it
I also suggest belnding it for a real long time. WIth the whey poweder and yogurt the longer you blend it the smoother and "fluffier" if you will the smoothie gets and the better it tastes as everything mixes even better. Also, I am recently taking VSL#3DS and have been adding that to my smoothie as well but that is obviously not a normal ingredient.
Best smoothies in the world I swear, and the best part iss if you don't like a certain fruit you can take it out or add a different one, like some don't like mango, just add more strawberries or blueberries if that is the flavor you like, you can also add raspberries or blackberries just make sure they are frozen. To me ice waters smoothies down and makes them watery as you drink them, doing it my way you can take a half hour to drink the thing and it never gets watery and consistancy maintains itself. Love them!!!
