I was talking with a friend today (ok..venting big time) who was questioning all the medication I am on.  I am also currently being monitored for possible Type II diabetes.  She asked if I carried any information about all these medications with me in case of an emergency, which I don't.  This friend is a nurse who recommended having some type of medical alert that directs an EMT to my wallet. 

Does anyone else here have or wear any type of medical alert because of UC and the meds?

I keep a card with my medical history and meds in my wallet clipped to my insurance card. I also carry my hubby's card and he mine.

I do not have any wearables but like Judilyn I have a card in my wallet with the meds I'm on and that I'm allergic to sulfa meds. I think its especially important for me because I'm a college student and no one knows about my medical history and I don't live with my parents during the school year.

I wear a bracelet that is basically a metal tag on a fancy woven, colorful bracelet that was originally intended for athlets. You know, poeple who go jogging and don't wear anything on them other than their sport clothes. That tag provides basic information and also includes a number that medical personel can check at a computer database. I have submitted all medical information necessary to that database (against a small fee) that will reveal the conditions that I am suffering from and what medication I am currently taking. The fact that I use 6MP is ingraved into the bracelet, right under my name and the phone number of my emergency contact.The rest of it is not visible for non-medical personel. I am glad to have that bracelet, it offers peace of mind, should I have an accident and should I be unable to speak. Sorry for the typos. My laptop's keyboard sucks big time.

I got mine through medicalert.org.  I have all my medications, illnesses, doctor, and emergency contact listed with them so if need be, someone can call the number on my bracelet and get my info.  I think it's about $30 a year...well worth it!
