  Someone mentioned in an earlier thread that this message board can get a little depressing.  I agree, some days we need something to laugh about.  I thought we could share some funny stories about our UC.

    We are working on potty training with our 2 1/2 year old.  When she goes in the potty we use M&Ms as a treat because she never gets candy otherwise.  She was in the bathroom with me yesterday when I was dying on the toilet.  She said,"good girl Mommy, I hear your tee tees".  I was having pure liquid blood at the moment but it still made me laugh.  She said, "now you get M e Ms". tongue

lol on the subject of chocolate i must admit.. i did sit on the toilet eating a marsbar once as i was craving it and everything just kept passing through! smhair

We're currently trying to potty train our almost 3 yr old daughter - not going anywhere fast with it!

A funny story that comes to mind for me is, years ago I was out shopping with my then boyfriend. The wonderful D cramps hit me and I hightailed it to the bathroom. I told him I would be right back. Thankfully, the bathroom at the store was empty so I could really let loose. Little did I know my boyfriend was waiting right outside the door. I heard him giggle and say, "oh my God" from all the noise that was coming from the bathroom. Lovely.

the sound is the most mortifying thing ever i think! i had my friend staying over once and she must have heard me on the toilet as the walls are paper thin anyway. she said "when you watch someone on the tv who has bowel problems and there really loud, i used to think it was exggerated, but now i know it isnt!" public toilets are the worst especially when you know your gonna be really windy and have to face people on the way out!

I think Canasa gives me the worst gas! Every time I pass gas, my little girl says, "say scoo me Mommy" and I laugh and say "excuse me". I guess she's picking up on the manners I try to teach her.

lol before i had uc i used to hold in my wind (and now i know it did me more harm than good!) but now as ive had to move back home and share a room with my sister its allll out in the open! the things we have to deal with! im going to be staying over in a hotel next week with my sister and her friend, ive had to book a seperate room as i hardly know the poor girl and when it comes to the mornings i cant be hammering on the toilet door cry   p.s i can imagine your little girl playing with her friends doc and nurses, and prescribing them m + ms lol

Hey chatty - while your own room is def. the way to go, I often just scope out the bathroom by the gym or pool or lobby at the hotel I'm staying in. I would rather not stink up the whole room anyway. So, I don't mind bunking w/ people and I just say "oh I'm going to go for a walk around the hotel" and just use the bathroom in the lobby instead. Or say you are running for coffee, the newspaper, to the gym, etc. No one needs to know the real reason. The gym is a great one (unless someone wants to join you) because you have an excuse to stay out of the room for a half hour or more and you can just hang in the public bathroom down there.

i think your prob right lol only prob is sometimes i have to go as soon as i get up so i get about a 30 sec warning lol, and my penny pincher sister booked us into a horrible hotel were they only have one bathroom on the one floor! (must be like a bed n breakfast house) but thankfully i have my own in the room smilewinkgrin

LOL, I love stories like these. I can so relate! When I was working and flaring, I needed to go a dozen times a day, urgently, as we all know so well. I was lucky I could dash from my office out the department door right to the women's restroom, so no one had to see how many times I went. I would always cross my fingers hoping the restroom was empty and would stay empty so I could do my noisy business. Oooohh what agony when there was someone in there. Sometimes I would run to another floor to see if that one was empty... if not, I would have run out of time by then and would no longer have an option. My theory was better to contaminate a bathroom where it is less likely people know me...

lol i remember when i was still at work and not diagnosed, it was in a big old hotel and i was a chambermaid so youd think id be in heaven with all those toilets! the only prob was they didnt check out till 11am so from 8am onwards  i was constantly running down 4 flights of stairs were the staff toliets were(the lifts always broke down and i was terrified of getting caught short), believe me youd have to be desperate to use those staff toilets they were antiques! and full of damp. one time i was cleaning a v.i.p room and had to use the toilet,i was in there an hour, i prayed they wouldnt check in lol

My dad was driving me to a job interview at a staffing company and I really had to go, but was running late. I get there, fill out my paperwork (only managing to hold it in by some sort of miracle) and the lady at the desk points me to the bathrooms in case I need to freshen up. So I wait for whoever is in there to clear out, as it's a one-person, and then go.

I try to flush and the toilet clogs to the point of it nearly overflowing. I tried plunging it a bit but didn't want to reflush in the case it actually did overflow.

I really hope they don't find out it was me that clogged the toilet, they might not send me job offers...

ok, i was in the BK drive thru one day and a really urgent moment came and they were going really slow....i was sweating really bad...i finally got my order pulled up just passed the drive thru lane and ran thru the restaurant....got in the bathroom and got my pants down just in time, but did not get on the seat yet....it was like a bazooka....all over the walls and floor and everywhere.......it was awful.....blood and d everywhere.....so i got a bunch of paper towels and cleaned it up......i laugh now, but it was not funny at the time....lol

My 2 1/2 granddaughter took the potty training toilet seat that goes on top of the toilet, carried it onto the stairs, sat on top of it, and peed into it onto the carpet below. She then smiled. She was very proud of herself that she had peed into the potty training toilet seat. It was so funny.

This doesn't really have to do with me and my issues but I think it's funny everytime I remember it.

My family and a couple of good friends went camping in a camp ground one year. There was an outhouse not too far from our site but my friends are a bit anal when it comes to where they go potty. So they would take a roll of toilet paper and head off into the woods. One day, after we were there for a couple days, my husband decided to take a walk thru the woods. He said he saw so much toilet paper along the trail that it looked like a landing strip for a plane! It was just too funny.
