My meals are basically chicken, lamp, salmon, tuna, or eggs with plantains, crackers or rice.
Is there any way to tell if the bleeding is b/c of the high INR from the blood thinner or if its still a problem with the colitis. Why is it always perfect in the morning but usually have blood at night? After a month of this I really miss eating out and having other foods.
Well, "lamps" can be pretty hard to digest LOL (sorry, couldn't resist on your little type-o there)...but seriously your diet sounds pretty healthy (granted that is if you're not eating junky stuff and too much refined sugar and such, cuz eating healthy and putting junk in as well is an obvious contradiction to your diet/health). You should talk to your doc about
the high INR from the blood thinner to rule out that possibility...one thing I was wondering about
was if you're using rectal meds (or have any rectal disease activity at the moment?)
The fact that it's only happening at night may simply be the nature of the beast of having an IBD as well and not necessarily to do with anything else.
:)I thought that eating lamps it might make me brighter, but I'm going to switch to lamb now.
Aside from the foods I mentioned I also have toast with the eggs, as well as english muffins or crackers. I haven't eaten out in over a month (so no fast food or anything I haven't controlled). Another thing I've noticed is that sometimes I have to strain a bit and then I go a lot, so I'm thinking it might be constipation which is making the bleeding worse.
My doctor said that one of the side effects of an INR that's too high is rectal bleeding, so aside from cutting back on the coumadin do you think it might make sense to start eating foods that are high in vitamin K that lower the INR? I haven't been eating any greens b/c of the flare up, which is probably why my INR is so high. I've also lost some weight.
So the consensus is that some kind of enema might help with the bleeding?
