Pain Relief - Tridural

I was at the doctors today finally to get something for pain releif and I ended up with soemthing called Tridural. I was just wondering if anyone has tried this and if  it's worked for them. I am on my 3rd night no sleep now because too uncomfortable so I am desperate for something to work and just really happy I finally got something to try.

Tridural is also called Tramadol...I'm sure I've read that others have used it.

You might want to do a search on this forum for tramadol and hopefully something will come up.

I've never used it.

It is an opiate derivitive....it might slow your colon down a bit..and if you have diarrhea, it should help that too.

I would think that driving or activity could be somewhat hindered while taking it...unless you use it only at night.

      My family doctor prescribes Hydrocodone for pain.  Funny thing is, it works like  a charm for me but does nothing for my daughter or husband.  Husband had back pain the other day and took one but he said he noticed no difference and daughter had stiff neck upon arrising the other day, suffered all day before she would even think of taking the pain pill and it did nothing for her!  Guess my tolerance of pain is higher.  Doc prescribed them last year after I was discharged from the hospital, so they may be old but I still take one very occassionally if I have severe pressure in the rectum.  Helps me sleep too.

Thanks guys for the info, I definately don't drive on these...I take them at night before I go to bed. I do find they make your head dizzy and when you stand up quickly they make you dizzy...not a great feeling but at least there is some pain relief from them. Not something I will take every day though. Thanks Christine for the info about Hydrocone..I go to see my doc tomorrow so I am just writing information down here to take with me and I am going to adsk him about trying this and seeing if it would be better for me. I don't like getting that medicine head feeling and that's what the Tramadol has done so fae, that being said I just started taking it and I'm sure the body needs time to adjust.

My doc gave me Lortab (a combination of Hydrocodone & Tylenol). Great stuff! Just be careful of getting hooked. :)
