I hope someone can help me with this...I've had UC for like a year now and it was getting better. I was seeing real improvements, but then around 3 days ago I got the chills really bad and then a small fever, a headache and my neck ached. During that same time i started going like 10 times a day and it was very watery and sometimes blood. Food is going right through me. Is this a flare up? or does it have something to do with the chills and the fever?

A UC flare does not manifest itself with chills or fever (except maybe if you get really anemic, you'll feel cold all the time).
You might just have the flu! It will certainly irritate your gut. Ugh, so frustrating when you were getting better. I have to stay away from sick relatives/kids, because any kind of illness will also cause some level of flare.

Hi..welcome to the forum!
What meds are you on at this time? Did you have any other symptoms that "might" have had you suspect you would be flaring?
Any fever, low-grade, can be associated with UC flaring...but if your fever is high, you might have picked up a gastro bug and it's affecting you right now.
If you have any meds, make sure you're taking them.

If this persists beyond a few days, it could be in your best intersts to call the doctor and see if you can do stool sample testing. Best to know what's going on.
You should start probiotics and a fibre supplement and possibly change your diet for the next few days to something more bland and easier to digest.
The fibre supplements will help absorb the liquid in your gut and hopefully some of the bad bugaboos if you have that happening.
The probiotics will help get the digestive flora back into balance.
Were you on antibiotics in the recent past?

Flu generally does not cause stomach symptoms-more likely it's noravirus or something like that, though I've noticed getting sick can trigger flares.

Yep, the flu can put you into a flare, even if it is not a symptom of the flu itself.
How are you doing today?

Fever (low-grade) can definitely be a sign of a flare-up. Best to get it checked out just to be sure.

I have sweating, slight fever and chills a LOT - doctor told me it was the UC. Who knows!
