It must really suck to be young and have UC. Teens and kids can be very cruel. However, you have a built in jerk detector. If you loose your so called "friends" because you are sick, well, they were never real friends. I personally do not like talking about
my colitis very often and just to close friends but that's just me. I get angry sometimes when my husband talks to others about
my disease as if I am not even there. He is getting better per my request that he not talk about
my illness to others. If I want to talk about
it, I will. I am a lot older than many on this forum. Believe me, when you get to be my age, and you will, everybody will be talking about
their health problems!
Sometimes I guess when people compare minor illnesses to UC, they just don't understand. They may not even mean anything by it. I am very grateful for this forum and I know others are too for more reasons than I could list here.
