So my question is, are there many people who have been diagnosed with UC that do not have much blood?
I was initially misdiagnosed with IBS, and didn't receive a UC diagnosis until 6 years later, largely because I wasn't passing blood & no occult blood was found on a 3-day stool sample. I had severe D, 10-15+ bm's per day, but still no blood except on a handful of times where I really strained.
If you haven't had your scope already, make sure you do. You should also have blood tests to see if there are markers of inflammation in your blood - this helps to establish a UC diagnosis, although the colonoscopy is more definitive.
