I know we are house bound quite frequently.  So many of us have pets to keep us company.  Let's share some stories about our favorite companions.  In what way do your pets help you feel better when you are feeling like crap?  Do they intuitively know when you are not feeling good?  Are they more sympathetic or do they try to make you laugh?

I used to have quite the menagarie of animals but have cut down significantly.  So right now I have 2 dogs, 2 birds, 1 turtle and 4 fancy rats.  It's my 2 dogs that keep me company and are always there for me no matter what.  I have a 7 year old Jack Russel/Beagle and a 5 year old Black Lab.  When I am feeling like crap, my Jackie will lay on my lap - sort of like a heating pad and my Charlotte (lab) will lay across my feet.  They will sometimes even follow me to the bathroom though I have to admit, they don't stay long! LOL  I guess certain "smells" even dogs don't like! When I am feeling depressed my Jackie can be so comical that it lifts my spirits.  She is definately a little force of nature!

I have a Tibetan Terrier called misty and a cat called scatty when im poorly hubby says oh you have dr scat and nurse mist as one lays by my side and the other at my feet it's the only time they get on when looking after mum and misty does follow me to the bathroom and comes in if i have not shut the door properly.

I have a 1 year old American Bulldog that weighs about 120 lbs. He's very sweet and cuddly and loves to follow me into the bathroom. Sometimes he likes to cuddle too much and insists on sitting on me. That hurts!

Your dogs are adorable!!!  I have 2 dogs myself... Rocksi is a chihuahua/pomeranian/cori mix and we recently rescued Jackson, a chihuahua/min-pin mix.  They are mine and my husbands babies!  Whenever I feel sick, they are always by my side- they just KNOW I dont feel well.  (not sure if my pic will work or not...)

We have a pound puppy named Kirby. We call him our "border basset spaniel." He definitely has a huge helping of border collie in him, and the brains to prove it. Around his face you can see the spaniel, and he has short legs, so we think basset hound.

When I'm feeling bad, Kirby will bring me his fluffy stuffed duck, put it up in my chair with me, then lie down right beside the chair.

We have a shihzu/poodle - 9 years old and about 20 lbs.  She is fun and still loves to play.

If I feel really sorry for myself I remember that Penny is totally blind - about a year now - and can you imagine living in the dark!

I don't have any pets with me at the moment. But I have a pet parrot and he stays with my mother. I raised him from a young age, and whenever I go home he doesn't want to leave me alone, so I'll have to walk around the house with him perched on my shoulder (pirate style).

Oh this will be fun. I'm not sure if I can figure out how to post pictures, but I will try. We have a 3 year old male Yorkie named Tucker and a 2 year old female Yorkie named Molly. We have the cutes AMHA Miniature gelding that belongs to my 10 year old daughter with UC. He is named Image. He is 2. We also have a 4 year old APHA gelding named Romeo - he is blue roan with blue eyes - gorgeous. He belongs to my 14 year old daughter. The picture with the mini show both my UC kiddos (the oldest and the youngest).

I don't currently have any pets, but I had a half cocker spaniel half ? when I was growing up. He had black and tan markings and much shorter fur than cockers normally have, so looked like a mini Rottie.

At any rate, he was a great dog! One time, I had pretty bad tummy bug, which was causing my blood pressure to bottom out when I would stand up (it's *really* low on a normal basis, so when I get even a little dehydrated, it gets super low). I was walking back to the couch from a bathroom trip, and could feel that I was about to pass out, so I slowly lowered myself to the floor so I could lay down. Willie came running over, licked my face, whined at my parents, and layed down beside me.

O i have a house full of animals 3 crapzu and they go with me every where i go . I have 3 cats , a bird sunny boy he is so sweet, and a turtel. One of my crapzu milly is my baby when im so sick she is right with me in the bathroom, bed she is my girl i have had her 11 years.

Oooh I love orangies!  I love cats but cannot have any due to my husband's allergies.  And no, those hairless cats don't do it for me!  smilewinkgrin

I have two cats named Mister Willis (Maine Coon Mix) who is 13 years old and the most arrogant and megalomaniac cat i have ever come across. He struts down the hall and if the dogs dare looking at him, he tells them off. The other cat is named Kirby and is a Silvertabby mix. I am not so connected with the cats strangely, my dogs are my all. I have a 4-year old chihuahua named Tuffy (there is some mini-pinscher in him) and a Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy named Despereaux (5 months old - I loooove Corgis and finally I have one). I let Tuffy in my bed when I am sick, because I find his company very comforting and soothing and he starts licking and kissing on me when I am not doing well. No real experience with the corgi yet since he is a puppy and we don't have him that long, but he certainly brightens my day, because he is so well-behaved, clever, cute and he loves to clown around.

Right now we have a sable and white shetland sheepdog named Jackson. We recently lost our other sheltie Sydney a few weeks ago. We are currently looking into buying a puppy or rescuing a abandoned sheltie from a shelter.
I don't know how they do it, but our dogs always knew/know when we aren't feeling well. If I'm home sick Jack will lay by my bed all night long (and he likes to lay on the covers drooped over the side of my bed!) We've always been lucky with getting amazing dogs. Sydney was the sweetest dog ever and Jackson is just a big goof ball. I don't think I could ever go through life without a doggie!

I love all the pet pix. I have 2 dogs. They are everything to me. When I am down, they are always there for me. My boy dog sleeps on my belly. He climbs over me and flops down if I am sleeping on my back. Sometimes I wake up and he is asleep on my back. My girl is too smart for her own good. She knows what time it is and she jumps up on me at dinner time and pushes her face into my face to let me know she wants food. She also has a vocabulary and knows words even if I spell them. Everyone who meets her falls in love. They both love to sit in a laps and are very faithful little friends. My boy is sleeping next to me now, of course he is pushed up on my side warming me up and it's 90 outside.

=D I love animals.

I have a very demanding female orange tabby. She's ancient, 17 years old, but still kicking. She just doesn't chase the dogs as much anymore. =)

My family also has a german shepherd/border collie mix (11 yo female) and a male papillon (2 years). The GSD/BC mix is very smart but a pain in the arse, and the papillon is skittish and obsessed with feet.

I have 4 cats and one peakanese....I used to have 10 to 20 ferrets.....

my husband used to be allergic to cats but he went through the allergy shots and now they don't bother him....

Since I was diagnosed, I never had a pet, but I did have a pet when I was a teen. I got my Golden Retriever from my substitute teacher and had her for a year and a half. One summer night, my mom and my youth group leaders from church set up a "Kidnap the girls" night. All of us girls didn't know about it, so that night my mom made go upstairs around 10pm. After I was upstairs I heard a knock on my door and there they were, my leaders came to take me somewhere for the night my dog was hysterical because she knew something was going on she heard the people there and she couldn't do anything. We continually went to other girls houses til we ended up to the house we were going to stay at. That night I slept only 2 hours. When I got home that afternoon, she slept on my bed with me and we slept for 2 hours. She never slept with me before because she had her own place to sleep. That's my most memorable moment with my wonderful pet Ginger. :)

INSIDE: A grey tabby named Simba, who I found and bottle-raised as a baby, he will be ten in September, he always comes into the bathroom with me; he even has a lil box in there to sleep in so he's there when I need him, if he didn't follow me in lol.
