The Mineral Drink works well – it's been proven effective in university research conducted in Austria (but not the UK, thus the FSA comment). The number and quality of the testimonials is impressive.
The FSA assessment is nonsense. The product is intended to be a home remedy and should not be evaluated as a foodstuff. Many medications, if tested in such a way, would also prove to be dangerous. Additionally, the reports of illness come from the same place. There seems to be some confusion about
correlation and causation – it's amazing that a government agency would post such claims without looking into them further.
Finally, the scepticism about
eBay availability is unwarranted. The fangocur products being sold on eBay are being sold by private parties; i.e. they likely received a volume discount from the company/website and are trying to turn a profit. This is common and says nothing about
the merit of the product.
Knee-jerk reactions aplenty.
I'd recommend that your husband (edit: you) give it a go.
