How'd the c-scope go? Well, I hope. And I hope the prep wasn't too horrendous, either.
Tell Mr. hefud to take good care of you! :)

The c-scope went well and I am not too badly inflamed. I have left side UC but it is restricted to about
the bottom 10 inches from my rectum up and one other area which is small. My GI biopsied one place and, all in all, he was very pleased and hopes we can get my flare in control quickly. He added a once daily Rowesa enema for a month and then I will go back in to see him.
The prep went badly, I threw it all up after the first 32 oz. and so the Dr. on call had me do a pill prep. I apparently was not all squeaky clean. I now have pictures of my colon and one also shows pictures of my poop in my colon. I don't know why but I think that is so funny!
Mr. hefud has been taking great care of me! I slept most of yesterday and brought my favorite chicken soup from a local deli & a bit of chocolate cake. Today he dug holes and planted yellow & red mums in a planter I made this summer. Now in the morning, I can sit in my Adirondack chair & look at my mums. He is such a good egg & love him so much!

Glad to hear that the c-scope itself went ok, but that sucks that you threw up during the prep. Yuck, yuck, yuck.
If you're not totally better after a month of using rowasa every night, definitely ask your doc to refill and keep with them nightly. I think I was symptom-free for about
two weeks before I started to taper. Then I went to every other night for a few (maybe three?) weeks, then to twice weekly (Sunday and Thursday nights), which is where I intend to stay for my maintenance dose.
Yay for Mr. hefud. :)

It was yucky, but the nurse put it on my chart and next time they will give me anti-nausea stuff to take before starting the prep.
I haven't started the rowasa yet, b/c the drug store didn't know what it was when I went to fill it, and so they were suppose to figure it out and have it this morning. They didn't and so I need to call after lunch and check in on them. They have promised me they will have it by 5pm today. I am looking forward to getting that started--I am tired of being tired--you know? The great thing is the GI set my appointment for the day the rowosa runs out so we can discuss everything.
Good to have you, this forum and Mr. hedfud for support! ;)

Seriously? You must be the only UC patient your pharmacy has! :) If they're still having trouble, tell them it's a mesalamine enema. Do you know if your doc wrote the Rx specifically for Rowasa or was generic ok? All I've used is the generic mesalamine enema.
Oh, and the best tip about
"applying" them I've gotten from here is to squeeze all of the air out first. If you don't, it'll make you feel like you've got to fart, and that's just no good after you've just put a lot of liquid up your butt! Another good tip (this one was from my doc, but I've heard it a lot on here, too) is that if you can't retain a full one, just use half. In fact, it *might* be a good idea to just use half tonight and see what happens.
I totally know what you mean about
being tired of being tired. I went from being pregnant and tired, to being an exhausted new mommy, to being an exhaused and really sick new mommy. When I finally started on pred and got my symptoms under control, I was amazed at how good I felt (and no, I don't think it was just "pred energy," because it stuck around after I quit pred). I think it had been so long since I'd been "normal" that I forgot what it was like! :)
I'm glad I can help, and I'm sure everyone else is, too.

Thanks for the tips and good to know the generic name. The GI wrote it for Rowasa. I called the nurse and she said that if the pharmacy doesn't get it by after lunch to call her and she will straighten it out!
