hi my name is Adeel and i am 23 year old men . my problem is that i have rectual bleeding sometimes not too much just 2 or three drops of blood mixed with my stool not alone and sometime i see white stuff in my stool. i have no pain issue . i am always on soft stool not solid stool or u can say not completely a formed stool and i have 2 or sometime three stool in a day . so plz advice me what 2 do . i am lossing my weight . i am currently using this medicine Sulfasalizin and steriods . should i use Ensure powder for weight gain ? but firstly i need to move on a formed stool ? but how ?

I would tell my doctor and see what he or she says. Sounds like you are might be going into a flare if you have blood and mucus. I've never had pain and I have pan colitis. So, just because you don't have pain doesn't really mean you aren't having a flare. Different meds may be needed. Good luck.

If you're not having completely formed BMs then adding a fiber supplement to your diet can help bulk them up.

I use metamucil, too, and it makes a big difference. I take 2 doses a day - but to get used to it, you probably ought to start with one (I've heard it can cause gas as your body gets used to it.)

okzzz but what about rectual bleeding ? how to stop it ?

You should go back to your doctor and describe your symptoms. I'd probably request a rectal med.

Also, I recommed you go to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America website (www.ccfa.org) and read their section about meds used to treat UC. It's really informative. I don't think you're in the US, but many of the meds they describe are available worldwide.
