Does Imuran cause wieght gain??

If you are in remission from the Imuran, it can be that you are finally gaining weight from being healthy again. I never understood how it was possible to lose so much weight with Uc because majority of the nutrients get absorbed thru the small intestine while the large intestine is designed to squeeze the liquids out of what the SI misses and excreting the waste. So maybe it has to do with the transit time of the food we eat. I know that when I am flaring, my transit time from mouth to anus is extremely fast. But now that I am in remission, it has slowed down significantly and I have finally gained weight as well. So with the slower transit, more nutrients can be absorbed by the SI. Oh and I was on 6mp for nearly 2 1/2 years before I started to gain weight but once again, it was after I finally hit remission that it happened.

I haven't gained weight. During my first flare I went from 145 to like 120. As I was getting well I got to 135. I am now at about 132. Been on Imuran a few years, and am even on birth control which is supposed to fatten me up lol. I eat cereal, a drink, and a yogurt cup or applesauce for breakfast, pretty small lunch, maybe an apple and banana, and dinner is whatever my parents make. I ride my bike about four miles a day (to classes).
