Hello all,
I'm newly diagnosed and am glad to have found this place!
I was diagnosed in August and after 1 month on tapering predinisone - I stopped bleeding and all my other smptoms - gas, bloating, some left sided pain pretty much went away. The only symptom that remains and has not gone completely is a "raw" feeling in my left sided colon - as if its inflamed. Its not even pain - its just like when u scrape your knee over something - but fairly annoying and more than anything it makes me worry. :(
Does this mean i am still inflamed? I have a follow up colonsoscopy in Feb - anything I can do till then to help this symptom?
I do notice bloating when I eat oily food or too much raw fruit/veggies - but am fine otherwise.
I just have 1 perfectly normal BM every day - I ahve not seen blood though sometimes my stools do have a reddish tinge - but I think that might just be me overactive imagination? :) Is it possible to have trace amounts of blood instead of visible blood?
Looking forward to hearing from you all,
Ann.
yes, it's common to have trace amounts of blood after a heavier bleeding episode. the raw feeling is evidence that you still have some inflammation. you'll have to be careful to avoid a relapse yet, especially if the stool is not back to normal.
