Hey,
So I had said that I was going to post the results from the surveys I have been putting out here. I encourage more people to take part. I think it's helpful..at least I hope it is...Here are the results...
Of 28 people who answered the survey, 32.1% said the severity of their flare-ups are unpredictable. On a positive note, 17.9 % said their flare ups become less severe over time as they are able to manage them better.
Of 19 people, 47.4 % never tried VSL #3...21 % said they didn't have any positive results while 10.5% said they had great results with VSL #3...
Of 27 people..44.4 % said they never smoked and never will...interestingly...40.7 % said their colitis symptoms started when they quit smoking and improved when they started smoking again.
Of 10 people who have pancolitis...unfortunately 7(including myself) said they do respond to Prednisone but can't find a good maintenance medication.
Of 27 people, 51.9 % are able to sleep right through the night without having to use the bathroom(not peeing) unless they are in a flare. 25.9% sleep right through all the time.
Of only 9 people, 33.3 % said that VSL #3 was the best supplement...while 33% said that fish oil pills were the best supplement...
Of 29 people, 31% say working out does not help or worsten their symptoms....17.2% say it is greatly helping their symptoms and 21% say they don't workout because they just don't like it...
I hope these surveys were helpful, especially to newly diagnosed people.
Have a good weekend everyone.
