I'm not sure on that one. I think quincy maybe just takes her Asacol twice daily, but I might be wrong.
As for switching from Asacol to one of the once-daily mesalamines (Apriso and Lialda), I did it and I LOVE it!!!!!! I'm on Apriso now. I had no problems with the transition...if anything, my remission is more solid since I switched, but that could simply be because I'm further from my flare, and therefore more "healed." But, taking Apriso just once in the morning was *so* freeing. I'm not one to despise taking meds or anything, but it was kind of a PITA to take Asacol three times a day. Like you, I had problems remembering the midday dose.
And, as an added bonus, both Apriso and Lialda have co-pay reimbursement programs. They're new meds, and it's the pharma companies' way of "hooking" you. So instead of paying $15/month for Asacol, or $35/month for Apriso, I'm paying nothing. It's pretty sweet!
