Had my colonoscopy today

So I had my colonoscopy today to determine how bad my UC is and to see if Remi is really the route I should go down.  Let's just say that after tomorrow I'll probably be getting my 1st Remicade Infusion in about 2 weeks. 

The colonoscopy showed moderate to sever inflamation throughout the whole colon which is no improvement from when I was first diagnosed.  My GI finally took me off of the 6mp (thank god, the worst drug ever) and started me on 40 mg of Pred.  The nurse was in the process of working wiht the financial and scheduling people to get my first infusion set up. 

I'm excited and scared at the same time, I pray to god that the Remicade works really good for a long long long time!

the remi has helped me a lot in only a few days.  This after nearly a whole year of flaring with only a few weeks of remission during the summer.  I too had severe colitis throughout my entire colon.  I would say if you decide to go that route, don't worry about possible side effects.  Worry changes nothing.  Just put your trust in God and live your life.  Hope it all goes well for you.

Best of luck with the Remicade. I hope it's your "wonder drug."

I was diagnosed shortly after you were (symptoms started in Nov 08), and I can't tell you how much I wish everyone had the luck I've had with the mesalamine drugs. I feel incredibly lucky.

     Shadam...do we have the same GI doctor?  LOL!  I met with mine today and he has me on the same path as you!!!  Stopped the 6MP, 60 mgm of prednisone only for today but 40 tomorrow and Remicade bound.  Good luck friend....hope we both have great results with Remicade smilewinkgrin

Shadam hope remicade works well for you...and for you too Christine. It seems to be working well for quite a few people on the forum.
