H1N1 shot caused flare!

Hi everyone,

I received the swine flu shot 10 days ago, and am now flaring uncontrollably. I havent felt like this for almost a year. In fact, I haven't flared in almost a year and was doing sooooo well. I am so frustrated right now. Dont know how long I'm supposed to feel like this...nausea and diarhea...so horrible. It started the very next day after the shot, and has been getting worse. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....Thank you guys so much for being here..

I really try to warn people on here about that shot. Please do some research if any one else is thinking about poisoning themselves with this shot. Go to youtube and look up Ron Paul Swine Flu. Ron Paul is just about the only congressman I trust.

Getting a reaction to the H1N1 shot is very individualized, much like our disease is. I received the shot two days ago and have been absolutely fine... no reactions what so ever. I did my research, there is substantial evidence supporting both view points of whether to get it or not to get it. Im sorry Angievirsep93 that you are having such a horrible flare right now and I hope you can bounce back from it as quickly as possible... but I just want people out there to make their own decision. In my case, it just seemed like it was the most logical thing to do for my situation, and Im 100% ok after getting it.

My son (in remission) had his H1N1 shot three weeks ago and never had any reaction, not even a sore arm. Yes, we're all different.

You could always add Milk Thistle to your supplements. It helps process things through your liver. Perhaps with that, and increased probiotics your body will rid itself of the shot or at least help it along.

I agree it varies by person. After having what I think was H1N1 for 2 weeks I think I would have taken a flare over that.

Really? A flare which may never stop and last for years...

Well maybe I am different again.  My flares get quickly under control (with prednisone of course) within a few days - knock on wood.....

We had the actual H1N1 flu here before Halloween (preschoolers-what can I say, they bring home everything!). I didn't get the flu too badly, and would DEFINTELY take the flu any day over a severe flare, but it did stir up the UC. Not too badly, but it was on it's way. I immediately went back to using the Canasa nightly,as I had gotten pretty sporadic about it, and doubled up my probiotics right away. It has since backed off and I am feeling the way I was pre-flu again. Not that that is without room for improvement, but at least I was able to get things under control quickly.

I think the probiotics helped quite a bit-as did plenty of rest and lowering stress. (stress is my biggest enemy by far-it has a MUCH more dramatic effect on my UC than any food or drink)

Good luck getting things back to normal...it is always something, isn't it???

It's a shame that adverse reactions often go unreported. When they are reported, they're chalked up as coincidence or psychosomatic.
