this is so interesting! I too think it's related to the disease, somehow, but I wonder why my brain tells me I have to go when I'm basically already going! Instead of giving me a few minutes leeway. I truly don't get any urge, the event is happening practically immediately after my brain says "Uh, oh- get to a bathroom!". I developed UC after a pretty horrific vaginal childbirth, which I'm sure did something to the muscles down there. Maybe my episiotomy had some role in it also, I don't know. But it's very frustrating, to have urgency as your #1 symptom/problem. I can honestly deal with a true flare, with numerous bathroom trips, better than I can deal with the day-to-day urgency. I mean, overall I feel pretty good- but god forbid I have to go when I'm in a store, in the car, at work, etc. PB4, can you clarify please- so currently, aside from the perianal skin tage, urgency is your only IBD issue/symptom? How do you feel you're doing these days, overall? On another note, what exactly is a colon spasm? So your colon spasms & expels its contents immediately? That makes sense too, relating to urgency.
