Cdiff

Turns out I have CDIFF!!! It all makes sense!!!  however, I have been feeling pretty darn good, even great since starting the VSL3 last thursday, I bet it was just overpowering the CDiff bad bacteria.  Now i'm on Flagyl (started yesterday) for two weeks and I am symptom free!

I wonder how long I've had the Cdiff and its probably been most of my problem for the past 3 months!  wish the MD would have checked for it a long time ago!!!   Now just to taper the prednisone!

What is VSL3? I also have/had CDiff. I was on a two week course of metronidazole (Flagyl) and that didn't work, I guess. I was still having sypmtoms and even though the stool samples were coming back negative for CDiff my doc said, once u have had it, the stool samples still sometimes come back as negative even if you have it. SO he put me on a 7 week taper of Vancomycin (Vancocin). I am almost done but I am still having flare ups OR diarhia from the CDiff. They just don't know!

VSL 3 is a super probiotic. A lot of people have taken it on this forum, search for it and you will get some info. I started feeling a TON better since I started it. But, I have to get the CDiff taken care of. What dose of Flagyl were you on? I'm on 500mg 3 x a day. I hope it works. I'm gonna go thru the course before I do any thing else. Maybe my case isn't that bad since I was feeling like I was almost in remission before they even figured it out. So, wish me luck! and Emy good luck toyou too-
