Sometimes people become fatigued because of UC itself.
My VSL experience: In Oct, 08, I was scoped and had significant inflammation up the left side and across the transverse. Doc wanted me on a short course of pred; I asked if I could try 3 weeks of cortenemas instead, first. Long story: I ended up moving, doc retired, his associate offered to try me on 6MP....I declined, and in April I started VSL. The cortenemas had helped a lot, VSL helped more. I tapered and stopped the corts within 8 weeks of starting VSL.
The following Oct, scoping and biopsies showed only a small amount of mild inflammation.
End of December, a flare started - I upped to VSL DS and again started corts. Within 2 days I was seeing almost no blood. Almost off corts now, continuing the VSL.....
So, whatever my particular story is, UC-wise, the probiotics seem key.
