azathioprine/loss of appetite

I am also on azathiaprine (175mgs daily). I was on it for 2 years at 75mgs to start off with but a recent flare has meant I had to increase the dosage.

I haven't personally noticed loss of appetite as a side effect. I have noticed my urine turning a fluorescent yellow theough! I take my medication right before bed and my urine the next morning is almost scarily yellow. I asked my doctor about this and it is apparently normal... Funnily enough, I had the same side effect when I was on the lower dose, although a month or so before my latest flare I noticed the discolouration disappearing. I don't know if this is significant or not, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the azathiaprine stopped working at such a low dose, hence why the discolouration disappeared and hence why I started to flare.

Other than that I do notice that I am a lot more thirsty now (dry mouth, especially in the mornings) so I am increasing the amount of water and herbal tea I drink to compensate...

I'm on 6mp which is similiar to Aza and yes I had a loss of appetite as well as nausea. But after my body got used to the med (around 3 months), my appetite came back and the nausea became more mild. Slight nausea lasted about a year for me.
