ONE! missed dose!?!

 I missed one dose of asacol yesterday and today I am poo #3  today with blood and mucus!  If it takes a few weeks to kick in why does one little missed dose cause a problem? I was doing so well, one decent normal poo a day for the last few weeks since I started the canasa..

I am so frustrated.. The soonest I can get an appt with an EXPERIENCED (New for Me) Dr is the 18th.  Between the joint pain and random swelling and crap...this is getting old...

I am going to up my asacol to 9 a day for now I guess.

do you really think thats why you are worse off today? I was actually wondernig the same thing this morning..

that's all I can attribute it to. I have been taking quite a few tylenol 3's for the joint pain but I haven't had one of those in 2 days. Food is normal and I have seen any mucus or blood for 4 weeks now.

Cramping is up also.

I personally don't think 1 missed dose (or even 2-3) would cause you any symptoms. My doctor agrees, too. Sometimes this disease can be very unpredictable. Sorry your symptoms are worse, whatever the cause.

I also agree it's just a coincidence. As you're getting into remission, you have some bad days mixed in with the good.

I know I can miss 24 hours' worth of asacol without it making any difference. I'm not sure I've ever missed more than that....

Poor thing. story of my life, miss a few pills, next thing I know, bam, symptoms. Maybe it is coincidence or maybe we bring it on ourselves with nerves? or perhaps we really can't miss a single dose? You could try increasing your Canasa to morning and night, that helped me once when I was in really bad shape. Hopefully it's just coincidence.

I missed my dose of lialda today. I did not even think about it until my 5th trip to the bathroom this afternoon. If I forget it, I have D by noon.

Maybe it is all in my head, but my body does not like missing my meds.
