After a weekend of pain i managed to see my IBD nurse and have been admitted to hospital cry

They are going to give me IV steroids and colonoscopy.

I hope they can give me something stronger for the pain.

I'm so sorry for your pain! But now you're in the place where they can take care of it - and hopefully you'll be feeling better soon. I sure hope so!

notsowell, Glad you are getting help. I know you posted several days ago about the severe pain you were dealing with. Keep us posted on how you are doing. I hope you get some relief from your pain.

Seems the best for you considering the hell you've been going through for a long while already.

let us know what the results of the c-scope are....

Not that Im' glad you are in the hospital, but I'm glad you are in the hospital... especially if you've been having a lot of pain and need some relief. At least in there, they can give you the meds you need and keep you way more comfortable than you would be at home.. Plus, it's right into the vein.. no waiting for a pill to take effect.. I hope you get through this and are feeling better soon... Good luck with the scope and let us know how it goes..

The consultant has just been to see me he was called Dr Pain! smilewinkgrin

He has prescribed tramadol for the pain and I am going for an xray this morning. Going to start bowel prep soon for a colonoscopy in the next few days.

I am sorry you are in the hospital, but glad you are getting the care you need. I hated having to go as well, but it definitely helped turn things around.

Scope on Friday so looks like I am in for a while. Glad I have the internet to keep me busy.

Had a bad afternoon, I was sat up talking to the lady in the next bed and all of a sudden started to feel feint.

Called for the nurse and my blood pressure had gone up, I had a cold sweat, felt like I was going out of conciousness then had an accident in the bed. It was terrible.

It is either the Tramadol or IV steroids as nothing else has changed. I am in severe pain but don't want to take Tramadol again just incase :-(

Oh man... sorry about your accident... It's going to get better... Can they give you something else for the pain besides the Tramadol? Diluadid is supposed to be pretty good from what I've heard... Good luck with the scope on Friday :)

Demerol has helped me with pain more than anything. They can give it in your IV. They gave it to me when I was in the ER with a bad stomach virus that caused cramps. I also took it after giving birth to my daughter - it was great and I had no side effects other than feeling a little tired. I am sorry you are not in a private room! That is no fun when you are really sick. I guess the one perk is you do have someone to talk to if you get bored. Best of luck - hope you feel better soon!

Hi,

Though I would update you guys. I am still in hospital awaiting the c-scope tomorrow morning. I have stopped the IV prednisolone and am back on oral.

They have started me on 3 ensure drinks a day as I have lost over a stone. Has anyone found they work?

The steroids seemed to control my BM yesterday but back to frequent today rolleyes

They worked for my Dad, when he was recovering from surgery and had little appetite.
Good luck tomorrow! Ugh, and tonight's prep, that will be the worst part. I hope you can get out of the hospital soon.
