Well, tomorrow morning is the first step of my j-pouch surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. Had a long day of pre-ops at the hospital today and got a tattoo where my stoma will be. My husband always wanted me to get a tat. Not nervous yet but something tells me tomorrow I will be. I might be able to get a two-step but I'm mentally preparing for a three-step in case he doesn't think it will work. I didn't realize they take out your appendix, too. I'll give an update at some point when I'm feeling up it.

Good luck! Check out the user UCVlog on YouTube. He documented his j-pouch surgery and it might help you. From what I've heard most people who have a j-pouch are MUCH happier with it. Anything is better than being sick all the time.

Good luck! If I do it this year then I am committed to a 3-step- well, what's 3 more months I suppose. Appendix? Never heard that this is removed- that's a new one to me. Wishiing you a smooth and speedy recovery and a great new life UC-free!

Good luck!
I thought your appendix was like, attached to your intestine or something? I don't know, that was in 9th grade.

Wow, this past week DID go fast! Hope the surgery goes smoothly and that you heal with no complications.
The appendix is attached to the cecum, which makes sense that it would be removed.
Let us know how you are when you're able.
We'll be thinking of you......count backwards from 100, 99, 98,97, 9....zzzzz

Wishing you a speedy and full recovery. This procedure may be in my future too. Did you have to travel far to the Cleveland Clinic?
