Hi jen,
I started cypralex (which is the canadian version of lexapro) about 3 months ago.. I had tried many others in the past (prozac, paxil, effexor, cymbalta) and some worked better then others - but the last one I had tried (cymbalta) was an SNRI and did not agree with me at all.
I am on the minimum 10mg dose and find it helps take the edge off somewhat. I find it more mild then others I have tried, and the side effects are manageable. It did cause some dizziness and nausea the first few days, but that passed quickly. Current side effects include increased fatigue, reduced sexual issues, and some mild weight gain if I let the cravings get out of control. But overall well worth it IMO. I don't sweat the small stuff as much, am less anxious, and do not obsess over things as much either. Of course everyone is different, but those are the side effects the majority of people mentioned on forums out of the 1,000+ posts that I read
Hope that helps and good luck !!!
Shawn
