What time of Day for Lialda?

Hi All, For those who take Lialda I was wondering if you have an opinion as to what time of day works the best? My doctor told me to take it with a meal but didn't specify breakfast, lunch, dinner? Do you find taking it at a certain time of day works better for you? Thanks! :o)

I've never tried any other way except for at breakfast time. And I was never told to take it with a meal. Which is good cause I only eat break fast 2 days out of 7. LOL. My GI said to take it in the mornings because then I would be taking it before I started my day.... But I'm not sure of the thinking behind this because its supposed to be time released to release through out the day..... But there's my 2 cents worth.

I have to take 4 a day. I take 2 in the morning within the first hour of being up and don't usually eat till an hour or two later, just coffee. Then I take the other 2 around 10 at night about an hour or two before bed. So I don't really take mine with food either.

I've taken mine at all different kinds of the day - I try to stay consistent but sometimes the day just goes by and I slowly shift the time of day I take it when I realize I missed the usual time. The last month or so I've been taking 4 around 8:00 p.m. I've never seen a difference regardless of when I took it. I just try to keep it 24 hours apart.

I'm on Apriso (also a once-daily med) and I take mine at breakfast. I very, very, very rarely eat out for breakfast, so it makes the most sense to do it then (since I'm only home for lunch on the weekends and eat out for dinner one or so a week) so I don't have to take it anywhere with me.

I found that taking mine at night after a meal helped with my sense of urgency and gas in the morning ... I am in remission now and take a maintenance dose, still at night.

I'm on Apriso 4 pills a day and take them all in the morning - I drink a smoothie after.......I've been in a flare for months now - going to be taking 2 canasa's twice a day to see if that will put me in remission. They all are time release drugs.........I've never been told to take with food....I think you will be fine......you could call your doctor's office and ask them to check with the doctor if that would make you feel better.......heck isn't that what we pay them for.......best of luck.

I get so upset thinking about<strong></strong> this disease and why it has never really been pushed for a cure like breast cancer or other diseases and I'm a freakin nurse!!! He is taking lialda (4 pills) daily along with 40 mg of prednisone. The doc tried to wean him off Prednisone with the first 5 days of being put on it. He never stopped with the bloody diarrhea. Now doc is looking at putting him on 6-MP. As an oncology nurse, I'm not happy at all! We are looking at aloe vera juice (pure), probiotics, liquid vitamins, protein, ginger, ginseng, and other minerals. Does ANYONE have any suggestions other than moving straight into these horrible drugs? Is there no other alternative medicine available for the sufferers of UC & Crohn's? My eyes have been <strong></strong>opened and I'm just sick about<strong></strong> it.
