what to do, Apriso makes my hair fall out but not taking makes me bleed more

Do you think If I did oral Canasa, would that enter into the blood stream like Apriso and make my hair fall out? I'm so confused how putting in something rectally works from something taken orally. Is rectal only confined to the rectum?

Please help cuz I have some at my desk I will use right now. I wanted to stop Apriso my hair was falling out in huge amount of strands! I have an appt with my GI but not until August 2nd, her first available! Terrible

I mean I carry canasa with me, I could pop one in up my butt. do you get the same side effect rectally as you would do orally?

Have you had your iron checked? When I was anemic I lost a lot of hair. I was also in a bad flare at the time and on Asacol. I initially thought the hairloss was from Asacol but it seemed to improve when my flare stabalized and my iron went back to normal.

Thank you fro the responses everyone. I was on 4 pills a day all in the morning for three months. I did find where a "rare side effect" from Apriso was hair loss.  I've just started back on a multi with iron, maybe this will help everything. Even at 4 pills a day, I was never in remission at all. I would still have "accidents" urgency, some blood but not as much as I'm having now. But I really feel the hemmroids have a lot to do with it.

I have GI appt at the beginning of August, can you believe it? I call to say I stopped meds and they say the earliest we can see you is in a month and half. WOW! I'm a present patient too!

Do you know if Valtrex is like immiosupressant? JW cuz when I was on that for my cold sore my stools were getting better.

i was actually having hair loss problems while on lialda... i think i literally lost about 50% of my hair!!! i was freaking out since i am a hairstylist and felt like i had no control over my own hair...i called my GI he said "well, i don't know what to tell ya!" umm, i don't know about u but that's not something i want to hear from my dr... i ended up switching doctors and my new GI prescribed apriso right away... haha... (we're all different so maybe i'm allergic to lialda and you're allergic to apriso)...i'm not saying you have to switch doctors but maybe your GI can just prescribe a different brand... i would hate for you to have to wait til august so maybe just call and leave a message for your doc and she can possibly give u a new prescription over the phone???... if your GI still makes you wait til august then i would switch doctors!!! good luck! <3
