I stepped on a rusty nail a few months ago, which of course coincided when my last tetanus expired (Murphy's Law huh?). So I got one and I had no problem with it other then a sore arm for a few days.

My doctor wants me to get it too but I feel the same way as you. I don't think I will.

hey krissy,
I havent had a tetnus shot lately but after pregnancy I had my MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) shot b/c mine had apparently worn out?... and it didnt affect my UC at all.
Can I ask, when do you take your 2 probiotic pills?

It would be far better to have a UC flare than it would be to contract tetanus! Sometimes you just have to put the UC aside for the greater good. Tetanus shots never affected my UC one way or another.

I had mine years ago (best check I guess when it's due again). I don't remember anything wonky afterward. I've never noticed any UC symptoms after any shots.
You're due, you should have it. If you're feeling precarious at this point, put it off for another month.

I agree tetanus is something you really do not want. I had mine a year ago and it didn't compromise my remission at all. Like Red said it makes your arm sore but that's about
it.

No Krissy, it will not affect your UC...I've had a tetanus shot during active crohn's colitis (CD affecting the colon) and never had any issues one way or the other...I actually had a crazy hope that it might cure my CD but of course no such luck!

If I had a high risk occupation or hobby I would. Risk factor is too low to even consider if you don't.
