Has anyone been prescribed Entocort for pan colitis? I know it is used mostly for the treatment of Crohn's, but I was wondering if it could work for us too. I read that it has virtually no side effects, since it is 90% absorbed into the digestive tract.

Also, is it OK to use Canasa if you are already on a high dose of oral mesalamine? I will ask the doc, but it is Saturday and there is nobody at the offeice.

I've used it for proctosigmoiditis. It helped a lot I'm 99.999% sure. If it helped it that situation, I'm sure it could help you.

It has few if any side effects, although long, long term use might bring some on. It has helped me 3 times, it takes a few weeks to kick into gear but is effective when it does.

The Entocort enemas were the only thing that stopped my flare. Better than Prednisone---and boy, do I wish my doctor had tried those first because pred is YIKES.

I tried Entocort two different times.  It really didn't help me.  I am currently using the Canasa and taking Lialda so I think it is ok.  The Canasa along with Proctofoam is starting to help me.  I am starting to pick up weight and can actually leave the house now.  Try the Entocort and see if it works.  I didn't have any side effects.

Entocort worked for me, but it does take awhile to get into your system. For me it took 3 months for me to go into remission

Is the Entocort enema available in the United States?
