You're always here for everyone else. Kinda shocked me to see you on the suffering end of the stick. Don't have any advice. Looks like you have every angle covered. You have my sympathies!

Oh no! Not you! Honey I'm sorry, sounds like you've got it all covered. Enemas, probiotics, meds. I hope it passes quicky and you feel much better very soon. Yeah, I've had cramps so bad I couldnt move but I must say they always pass (vicodon). You've been doing this for years, UC's got nothing on you girl!!!

Yikes!  Oh no quincy!!!  Hmmm, the chills and achy joints make me think flu/stomach flu/virus.  Or perhaps possibly food poisoning?

I think it's a good plan upping the enemas and probiotics until this is over to try to prevent a flare.

Try to rest as much as possible, let your body heal.

I hope you feel better soon!!

Gosh, Q, I'm so sorry. I hope the acute phase of this indeed has been a virus that will pass.... and I hope it doesn't leave you flaring.
I always find it annoying when my tried-and-true actions (meaning enemas) don't just kick it immediately... some gut issues and flares have their own, different from the norm, rules. So frustrating.

I had a spell of nausea and cramping last week... I was thinking I could pin it on a particularly sleepless night and the extreme heat we'd been having. But I'm trying to chase off a flare, too.

I'll be thinking of you and hoping you get through this relatively uneventfully (I guess it's already been somewhat an event.... argh.)

Hi all....wow, thanks for the comfort of being here!!! I sooo appreciate you all. I know others have had the same thing, and my misery is loving the company. Other people I know have complained about some tummy misery too...non-ucers. hmmm. There's lots going on here too with the weather, other personal issues, etc. I can never shut my mind off, but when not feeling well, everything is like a huge issue. I need a holiday away from myself..lol.


In all truth, I've never had constant cramping and discomfort and nausea for days like this. Creeps me out and of course first thing I worry about is my liver rather than my butt (because I can deal with that). Interesting that lower right side pain is also a constant.....something new as well.

I did up the asacol last night and took an extra one this morning. I've only ever done that once before and my doc was OK with it then. I'll do it for a week.
I do have much improvement on the nausea scale and the chills, etc...a huge plus.

I can feel my butt doing a little action and I have sensations going down my legs (like when I used to have my periods), but I'd say it's already reacting. So whatever it is that I had....I still have to treat it all as a flare.

WEll...today was a more normal and substantial poo....out in a hurry with lots of gas. It's taking a while to settle at this point and I'll take a bentylol shortly to last me the rest of the afternoon. I have a client today..I should be OK by then.

I'll try the peppermint tea this afternoon and see if that helps.

I probably would be able to get in to see another doc if I had to...I'm going to pass unless I get worse or don't improve at all.

Sweetie....I am in Sacramento and was diagnosed with UC in April of 07. Who was your Dr. here in Sac? I see one of the doc's in Roseville as that is closer to where I live. I work in Sac at SMC.

History:

 I was given Asacol when released from the hospital and had a really bad allergic reaction. Then placed on Lialda, of which is a form of asacol, but had no reactions. Prescribed Remicade and followed that regimine for almost 2 years, but the allergic reactions kept getting worse. So then I was prescribed Humira and have been on that for a few month's now along with Canasa..instead of Lialda. I had a few good month's and now I am in a killer of a flair. Debilitating to say the least this time around. I feel as if I've been taking a bowel prep for over a week.

I see that a lot of you are on Asacol. Wondering why most are not on a biological regime? (Remicade, Humira, etc.)

Also, I have to say that I literally hate the taste of VSL3# DS. The only way that I can even think of ingesting it, is to blend it up with V8 juice and ice cubes. And even then, I would just like to throw it up. And the V8 is a little acidic to the digestive system.

How are some of you able to ingest the VSL#3? I noticed some are making their own yogurt. Can you please give me a recipe for the yogurt so that I might try it that way?

I was away for the long weekend and came home to see you message . I hope you are feeling better. I had a horribe flu a couple of years ago where the worst symptoms lasted for 4-5 days and then I slowwwly started ot get better and   by day 12 I was all better. It took forever!  I hope you are not starting a flare. But like others have said, it sounds more viral.  Drink fluids.
